Encouraged to draw from childhood
by his mother, Sherwin taught himself to draw people from
reading Marvel comic books. At the age of 13 while
spending long summer hours herding the family goats, he
created his first comic strip, Clyde Quackgrass. Based
on the life of a fictitious hillbilly, Clyde Quackgrass
ran in 11 area newspapers.
While going to the University of Minnesota-Moorhead for
Graphic Design, Sherwin began working as an illustrator at an
advertising agency in Fargo, ND. Since 1988, Sherwin focused
his talents creating professional corporate design and
illustration work. In the fall of 2000, the comic book bug bit
again while working on a comic book-style promotion for a
client. His childhood love was here to stay and he has been
committed to creating quality Christian comics ever since.
Sherwin is currently part of the Community Comics crew. His
credits include, Chosen Mortals, Luther, Anointed,
Hero TV, Timepiece, Larson Street Kids
and A Christmas Treasury.
Sherwin and his wife, Leah, live outside Minneapolis, MN in a
small brick farmhouse. They do not own any goats.
Sherwin's slated for the cover to MZ#10.
